A 12-year-old student, Tylin Gcabashe was allegedly racially discriminated and assaulted by the Principal's husband at Crowthorne “Christian” Academy because of her hairstyle. She was also unfairly expelled from school because she has dreadlocks.

Volgens verskeie plasings blyk dit asof ‘n 12-jarige leerling ‘n probleem oor ‘n haarstyl ondervind het.
Volgens CrimeInSA X-blad (Twitter) is ‘n aanrandingsaak by Midrand-polisiestasie geopen.
FiND iT het kommentaar van die skool, die Gauteng-onderwysdepartement en die polisie gevra.
Gauteng-onderwysdepartement het soos volg reageer:
The Department is aware of the incident at the said school. It must be noted that the said school is illegally operating, and the learner was offered alternative schooling and counselling by the GDE.
We have started to assist the school to comply and encourage all unregistered institutions to engage with the department for assistance with registration processes.
