Die gesondheidsdepartement in Limpopo het deur hul landelike inisiatief, wat op 19 Mei 2023 in Capricorn-distrik geloods is, prosedures op 80 pasiënte uitgevoer.
Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, LUR vir Gesondheid in Limpopo, het haar opgewondenheid uitgespreek omdat meestal vroue deur die inisiatief gehelp is.
Een van hierdie pasiënte was ‘n vrou (43) wat nie meer kon werk nie as gevolg van haar borste wat aanhou groei het. Sy het volgens Ramathuba weens die gewig erge rugpyn ervaar.
“7 kg of breast mass was removed and she said she feels different.”
“Today I’m so excited because most of the beneficiaries are women from the rural parts of Limpopo and this initiative was meant for them.”
Nog ‘n voorval is van ‘n 55-jarige vrou met vaginale prolaps wat opgewonde is omdat sy haar waardigheid kon herstel. Die vrou kon nie lag, hoes, swaar goed dra of eers haar tande borsel nie.
Hierdie is maar twee van die pasiënte wat by die weeklange chirurgiese prosedures wat sedert Vrydag 19 Mei 2023 uitgevoer is, gebaat het.
Chirurgie op pasiënte is vir onder meer kaak, ortopedie, ENT, plastiese chirugie, oftalmologie, ginekologie en vele meer uitgevoer.

LIMPOPPO HEALTH MEC DR PHOPHI RAMATHUBA TO LAUNCH CAPRICORN DISTRICT RURAL HEALTH MATTERS OUTREACH PROGRAM
Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba will launch the Capricorn District Rural Health Matters outreach program on Tuesday, 23 May 2023, at Botlokwa Hospital in Molemole Local Municipality under Capricorn District.
A team of medical and dental specialists are rendering services at hospitals in the Capricorn District from the 19th May to 31st May 2023. The Rural Health Matters outreach program stands to benefit people from disadvantaged communities. It is through this program that rural hospitals increase local access and allow patients to focus on getting better rather than getting to appointments.
Botlokwa Hospital is currently hosting Gynecology surgeons, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons and General Surgeons.
