Die SANW se korporatiewe kommunikasie-afdeling het video’s op sosiale media vrygestel waarin die Russiese vlootskip, die Admiraal Gorshkow-klas fregat van die Russiese federale vloot in Durban aankom, asook die aankoms van die Chinese Plan Rizhao in Richardsbaai.
Oor ‘n paar dae gaan ‘n gesamentlike oefening MOSI II Team II van Suid-Afrika, Rusland en China in die water tussen Durban en Richardsbaai plaasvind.
Die oefening is geskeduleer om op 22 Februarie 2023 te Richardsbaai plaas te vind. ‘n Uitnodiging is aan mediahuise gerig om ‘n inligtingsessie op 20 Februarie by te woon.

Exercise MOSI II 2023 II Preparation Phase || As standard practice throughout all navies courtesy calls to various stakeholders in a foreign port are conducted as a gesture of good relations between countries. Such a gesture was honoured when the Admiral Gorshkov visited Durban shores on 17 February 2023 and berthed at the Durban Harbour.
The Admiral Gorshkov’s Officer Commanding, Captain (Navy) Ivan Krohmal, the Captain (Navy) Officer Commanding of Division of missiles of ship, Captain (Navy) Oleg Gladkii together with a delegation paid a courtesy visit to Durban Harbour Master, Captain Sabelo Mdlalose of Transnet National Ports Authority. During the visit, Captain Mdlalose welcomed the Officer Commanding and his crew to the port of Durban and wished them a pleasant stay in the country.
The port stop in Durban forms part of the ship’s replenishment and preparation phase for Exercise Mosi II 2023 scheduled to take place off the coasts of Durban and Richards Bay next week.
