With women’s football growing rapidly on the African continent, it will become a norm for any big football club like Kaizer Chiefs to have a women’s team.
Chiefs’ management have listened to the fans’ calls to establish the women’s team, especially after being inspired by Mamelodi Sundowns ladies who won the CAF Women’s Champions League last year.

Kaizer Motaung Jr, Amakhosi’s Sporting Director, says it has always been a plan and they’re looking to implement it.
“It shouldn’t be done now because we’re told to do it or it’s a requirement. This is something that has actually always been a plan and we will be implementing it,” he said on the Ultimate Sports Show on Metro FM.

“It has been on our desk for a long time, the work is being done. Now we’re looking at different stakeholders and partners to align on that journey, because you can’t enter into a space half-hearted.”
Sundowns ladies have been dominating the Hollywoodbets Super League and became champions last season with 24 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in 26 games.
