KIMBERLEY. – The office of the executive mayor said in a statement that they are aware of the rumours going around on social media that the Sol Plaatje municipality executive mayor, Alderman Patrick Mabilo, has been put on social leave. The rumours claim that the mayor will be on social leave until the local selection which will take place on 1 November.
The statement states that Mabilo will continue as executive mayor until the end of the 2021 local government elections. Communities of the municipality are also asked to work with the municipality to improve the quality of the services.
