OOS-KAAP. – Chadwin Witbooi, ‘n matriekleerling van Hoërskool Paterson in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), is Maandagaand omsreeks 21:00 in Schauderville op pad huis toe doodgeskiet nadat hy vir die eksamen geleer het.
Kapt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg sê Witbooi het, nadat hy geskiet is, in ‘n erf in Jamesonstraat ingehardloop waar hy inmekaargesak het. Hy is na ‘n hospitaal geneem, maar het met aankoms gesterf.
Medelye na die afsterwe van die matriekleerling tydens sy skooleindeksamen stroom op sosiale media in.

CHADWIN WITBOOI, a grade 12 learner, CLASS OF 2023, a young man with his whole life ahead of him, taken from us in such a tragic way. Feisty and spirited, Chadwin had an absolute zest for life. He made many motivational videos where he inspired other youngsters to never give up or let their circumstances define them. He enjoyed singing gospel music and would randomly start singing in class. He had an engaging approach with his peers and teachers . He spoke his mind, a characteristic that will always make him special and endearing . A talented soccer player, with so much potential. A MATRICULANT focused and determined to succeed in this final chapter of his scholastic career. Sadly, this dream came to an abrupt and untimely end. PATERSON HIGH will treasure the memories of CHADWIN WITBOOI. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this very sad time. We wish you peace and comfort as you deal with his loss.
