Tom Murray (28) is dood en Cloete Murray, in sy vyftigs, is kritiek beseer nadat daar Saterdagmiddag 18 Maart 2023 op die N1 Hoofweg Noord naby die New Road-brug, Midrand, Gauteng, op hulle geskiet is.
Cloete Murray was as likwidateur betrokke by hoëprofielsake wat Bosasa, Gupta en ander insluit. Tom Murray, sy seun wat oorlede is, was ‘n regsadviseur.
Kol. Dimakatso Sello, polisiewoordvoerder het die volgende kommentaar gestuur:
The police in Midrand will be investigating a case of murder and attempted murder following a shooting incident at Newroad offramp on N1 North.
It reported that on 18 March 2023, two men (reportedly a father and son) were travelling together when their vehicle was shot at by unknown suspects. The son was fatal shot while the father sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.
The circumstances that led to the incident are unknown at this stage.
Police request anyone who may have information that can assist with investigations to contact the Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111 or anonymously report tip-offs on MySaps application which can be downloaded on any smartphone.
Kyle van Reenen, woordvoerder vir Emer-G-Med Nooddienste, sê hulle het twee mans met verskeie skietwonde op die toneel gevind. Die jonger man het reeds aan sy beserings gesterf. Die ouer man is gestabiliseer voordat hy vir verdere mediese sorg na ‘n nabygeleë hospitaal geneem is.
Feite oor die insident en wat dit voorafgegaan het, is nie duidelik nie. Die polisie ondersoek die voorval.
