The winner of the #AbsaWinAChery competition received her car today at Human Auto Chery in Kimberley. Tharwah Allie and her husband, Shameeg, traveled all the way from the Western Cape to receive her brand new car.

Allie entered the #AbsaWinAChery photo competition. All participants had to do was take a photo of the new Chery Tiggo 4 at any Chery dealer. The photo then had to be posted on Twitter with the hashtag #AbsaWinAChery.

Tharwah tells FiND iT she saw the competition at the end of April and told her father about the competition. “He said I must enter because he knows I will win. He also said he was going to come with me to Kimberley when I fetch my prize.”

Tharwah says she did not take her father seriously and he tragically passed away on May 3rd. “It was difficult. I was thinking of his words that day and I went to the Chery dealer in Century City the next day. I took my entry photos and I entered every day, from that day, until midnight at the end of the competition. I got the news on June 10 that I was one of the finalists and I was so happy. They called me a week later after everything was over and said I had won. I started crying with joy. I feel so grateful and happy that I entered the competition. This is not something you can easily get. I’m just so sad that my dad cannot be with me right now to celebrate. He is the reason why I entered the competition. ”

Tharwah is full of praise for Absa and says Absa has helped so many people already. “What they offer changes people’s lives. I am so grateful to Absa. ”

Bruwer Nel, head of dealer relations at Absa, says it is very important for Absa to get to know customers more closely and also become involved with customers and business partners. “It is very special for us to present the prize today. I was so happy to be the one to call Mrs. Allie with the good news. It was such a special experience for me as well. We hope she has many safe miles by car. ”

Nel says he thinks it inspires people to see that miracles can happen and that Absa is part of making people’s dreams come true.

Tharwah and her husband, Shameeg, along with their one son, took the trip back to Cape Town, where she can now drive her children around in her brand new Chery Tiggo 4. “This car is amazing! I love it so much. It drives so smooth and its technology is just out of this world.”
