Tomorrow, Tuesday 10 May 2022, Cilliers Brink MP, DA National Spokesperson, will accompany Harold McGluwa MPL, Provincial Leader, Delmaine Christians MP, NCOP member, as well as DA councillors from Sol Plaatje, on an oversight inspection of the provincial R31 road that became submerged in a lake of sewage and fresh water, following years of neglect of infrastructure maintenance in Kimberley.

While R32 million has been budgeted for the repair of the R31, the question remains as to whether the repairs are in fact sustainable, given that the root cause of the lake has yet to be adequately addressed.

They will also visit a national road on the outskirts of Kimberley that faces a similar threat if preventative action is not taken.
An important announcement will follow this oversight.

Details of the oversight is as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 10 May 2022
Time: 10:00
Place: R31, just before the stop-and-go on the road between Kimberley and Barkley-West

The media is invited. There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
