Western Cape police have arrested a man who is alleged to have been involved in the murder of five people in Endlovini, Khayelitsha. A tracing operation led the police to a home where the alleged suspect lived. He was arrested on Monday evening by organised crime detectives.
Brigadier Novela Potelwa said, “The arrest was effected after police embarked on a tracing operation that led them to a home in Khayelitsha. The suspect will be facing murder charges linked to an incident where five people were shot and killed in New Monwabisi Park in Endlovini.”

She said as the police are conducting further investigations into the mass killing in Khayelitsha, the police have knowledge of the suspects who are alleged to have been involved in the mass shooting that happened in the early hours of Monday 24 March. The arrested suspect in the Endlovini mass shooting is expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile in a separate investigation, 35-year-old Thando Shuba made a brief appearance at the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court last week following the deadly shooting of six people in Enkanini informal settlement on March 20.
The police allege that three unknown armed men began shooting randomly at the victims at Lindela Road. The police discovered two women and four men aged between 22 and 27 who had been shot. The sixth victim passed away in hospital.
