It’s been over seven years now since the Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead.
The trial of the five persons accused of his murder is expected to commence on Monday 11 April 2022 in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

AfriForum’s Private Prosecution Unit currently has a watching brief on behalf of Ntombifuthi Meyiwa, as well Zama and Nomalanga Meyiwa, respectively the mother and sisters of Senzo Meyiwa.
The accused have been identified as Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and SifikuhleNkani Ntuli Sifiso.

They are being charged with murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, possession of firearms without a licence and the possession of ammunition.
Four of the accused, however, during pre-trial proceedings in March, indicated that they had changed counsel and that adv. Malesela Teffo would be representing them from now on. Teffo also indicated that the four accused intended to bring a special plea on Monday.
