Two journalists working for Fox News have been killed near Kyiv as the Russian invasion intensifies. Cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski, 55, and his colleague, producer Oleksandra Kurshynova, 24, both died when their vehicle was struck in Horenka near Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, on Monday.
News correspondent Benjamin Hall, 39, was also injured in the attack, but he is still alive and being treated in hospital and is said to be in a critical condition. The attack which killed Zakrzewski and Kurshynova follows the death of 50-year-old US journalist Brent Renaud who was shot and killed on Sunday by alleged Russian forces in the town of Irpin in Ukraine.
Fox News’s Bill Hemmer announced the passing of the two journalists on Tuesday morning calling Zakrzewsky an “absolute legend” at the news channel. “His loss is devastating. He has been with us for years covering wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and Syria,” Hemmer said.

The deaths of Kurshynova and Zakrzewski has now brought the recorded death toll of journalists killed in the current Ukraine crisis to five. It has been reported that two Ukrainian journalists have also been killed by alleged Russian troops.
Yonat Friling, Fox News producer, paid tribute to Kurshynova saying they had lost a beautiful brave woman. “She loved music and she was funny and kind. She was 24 years old. She worked with our team for the past month, and she did a brilliant job. May her memory be a blessing.”
Tributes have been pouring in for the two Fox News journalists.
