Robber shot dead by schoolboy after stabbing his father to death

A schoolboy from the Eastern Cape shot and killed a suspect who had just stabbed his father to death. The boy took the gun from his father’s lifeless body and shot dead the suspect. The incident happened near the bustling Hewu taxi rank in downtown Komani on Wednesday.

The young schoolboy was walking home from school when three suspected robbers decided to attack him. The incident happened near a taxi rank in Komani in plain view of people, but the boy did not get assistance from anyone.

The boy together with his father went to look for the suspects and found one of them. A fight between the father and the suspect broke out where the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the man to death in front of his son. The young man took the gun from his father’s lifeless body and shot dead the suspect in plain view of the people at Komai taxi rank.

A case of murder has now been open by the Komani police and investigation will commence. Komani police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni said, the pupil was robbed off his cellphone and clothing while he was on his way home by three suspects. The boy reported the matter to his father who quickly took off to look for the suspects. “The suspects were found and identified and one of the suspects attacked the father and stabbing him to death,” said Mdleleni.

“The pupil pulled his fathers firearm and shot the suspect who also died on the scene.” Further comments could not be shared as an investigation into the matter is underway.
