Piers Morgan, a British presenter, reckons Meghan Markle’s appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show was detrimental to her “brand”.

Markle’s appearance on the show was her first visit to a television talk show since becoming a member of the British royal family.

Piers says in a Twitter post that she behaved like a “desperate reality TV star” and that watching it “makes one nauseous”.

He went further and said even the Kardashian fame would have found it humiliating. Among other things, Markle shared a photo of herself when she was in primary school, where she had very puffy hair.

She said the children called her “Krusty, the clown” and mocked her.

During her appearance on the show, DeGeneres said Markle was eager to take part in one of the show’s famed pranks.

“When I talked to Meghan before the show, Meghan said she wanted to do one of those pranks.”

These pranks are where the guest (Markle) wears a hearing aid through which DeGeneres gives instructions on how to act in public.

The person then makes a total fool of himself / herself. Among other things, Markle had to drink from a baby bottle and sing a song about kittens.

Social media asked why Marke is still on television, when she’s seeking privacy; why do people still look at what she does, where others were happy to see Markle not take herself so seriously.

Piers Morgan lost his high-profile breakfast television slot after commenting on Markle. He sharpened his long-standing criticism of her after her interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which she revealed she wanted to commit suicide while living in Britain as Prince Harry’s wife.

The morning after the interview was broadcast on American television, Morgan said amid a flood of other criticisms of Good Morning Britain that he did not believe a word Meghan said. In a tweet, he called her “Princess Pinocchio”.
