SOUTH -AFRICA. – The biggest online rugby and sports memorabilia was hosted this past weekend. Braam van Straaten, former Springbok rugby player, showed his appreciation by thanking everyone who participated in the Care 4 Kings online memorabilia auction.
This online memorabilia auction was held in support of the Care 4 Kings initiative, which Van Straaten started earlier this month.
Care 4 Kings is a fundraising initiative to financially support the former Southern Kings rugby players and staff. This initiative began after 52 players and staff heard a few days before payday that no one is getting paid. The Kings was liquidated. This news left the players devastated as rugby were their source off income.
Van Straaten describes the online auction as a “massive success”. He especially thanked Dottry Media (Pty) Ltd, Rudi Ferreira, Jana Grobbelaar from FiND iT, Piet Heymans from Sports Employees Unite, Robbie Kempson, Lauren Terras from Terra Communications and Cassie Carstens. “Everyone played a big role in the success of the auction.”
He asked everyone to join the next big auction, which will be a wine auction. This will take place in the next few weeks. All information on upcoming actions wil be available on the related Facebook and Instagram pages.
