KIMBERLEY – Die polisie se reddingspan het Vrydag omstreeks 18:00 twee mans uit Vanderkloofdam gered. Die mans het glo gaan kanaal ry toe hulle deur die rivier se stroom meegesleur is.

NC: Two men rescued from the raging river*
On Friday at about 18:00, two men aged 35 and 45 years old were rescued from Vanderkloof dam by SAPS Search and Rescue Team.
It is alleged that the two men went to swim in the canal near Orange River in Vanderkloof when they got washed away by the flooded river. They were located alive, down stream on the river and were treated for shock.
With the rainy season upon us the public is once more urged to adhere to the following water safety tips:
*Do not swim in canals or in rivers.
*Always check the current of the water before going inside.
*Never jump or dive in the river.
*Never swim alone. Ensure that you are with someone who can swim.
*Never play around water when you are intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol.
