NC: KATHU CRIME PREVENTION MEMBER CREATES AWARENESS ON DRUG ABUSE AND SUICIDE AMONGST YOUTH
On Friday, 2020-03-13, Sgt Ben Eiman , stationed at the Kathu Crime Prevention unit addressed approximately 40 youth of the NOTW youth of the AFM Kandelaar church in Wrenchville on drug abuse and suicide. Sgt Eiman initiated the programme in an effort to make the local youth aware of the serious and negative impact it has on the youth in the community and how easy they can become addicted to it and how it can ruin their lives and that their family unit. He sacrificed his rest days to serve the community by engaging with the youth.
The theme was ” Know your limits ” and Sgt Eiman shared vital and important information with the youth regarding the abuse, the affects it has on you as a person and on your family and how it can ruin their lives.
He also discussed the legal implications and the negative impact it has on their lives if they transgress the law.
He also discussed suicide and how it breaks a family.
Sgt Eiman presented the programme while on his rest days which is a clear indication of his determination and commitment in eradicating and removing drugs from the community.
The John Taolo Gaetsewe Cluster Commander, Maj Gen Johan Bean applauded the member for his efforts and contribution to remove drugs from the community and squeezing the space for drug dealers to operate.
Sgt Eiman also received numerous positive feedback from parents within the community and thanked him for his efforts. End
