‘n Ligte vliegtuig met twee insittendes het Maandag’n noodlandig in die noorde van Pretoria by die Wonderboom-lughawe gemaak.
Sisa Majola, woordvoerder vir SACAA, sê in ‘n verklaring dit blyk asof die vliegtuig tydens opstyg enjinprobleme ondervind het, wat ‘n noodlanding vereis het.
Die twee insittendes wat beseer is, is na die hospitaal vir mediese behandeling geneem.
‘n Voorlopige verslag kan binne die volgende 30 dae verwag word.

“The SACAA Accident and Incident Investigation Division (AIID) is aware of a light aircraft accident that occurred at the Wonderboom Airport, north of Tshwane, on Monday, 29 August 2022. It was reported that the aircraft had an engine failure on take-off, resulting in a crash landing and substantial damage to the aircraft. There were two occupants onboard the aircraft, both of them sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.
The AIID has started the evidence collection phase with investigators dispatched to the accident site to gather additional information that will assist in defining the size and the scope of the investigation. We will issue a preliminary report within 30 days of this accident. In instances where an investigation takes longer than 12 months to complete, there will be an interim statement that gives indication of the progress made.
The completion of an investigation is marked by the release of a final accident report, which often contain safety recommendations aimed at improving the levels of aviation safety and the prevention of a similar accident.

In terms of Regulation 12.03.1 of the Civil Aviation Regulations (2011), an aircraft accident investigation report is compiled in the interest of the promotion of aviation safety and the reduction of the risk of aviation accidents or incidents and not to apportion blame or liability.
