Position: Member Ledger Administration Clerk

Background:
The De Beers Pension Fund (the Fund) is a self-administered restricted pension fund, for the employees and pensioners of De Beers South Africa. The organisation is seeking to employ an experienced, self-disciplined and highly motivated administration clerk with strong analytical and problem solving skills as part of a broader professional team.
Key Performance Areas:
The position reports to the Member Ledger Administration Supervisor and will be supported by other departments and multiple external service providers. The incumbent will be responsible for, amongst others, the following:
- Maintenance of master file changes to the Administration system.
- Execution of all relevant tasks associated with deferred and paid-up members in terms of applicable legislation.
- Processing of divorce benefits to non-member and member spouses.
- Processing of benefits received from previous insurers/funds.
- Scanning of all departmental documents to the relevant member records.
- Maintaining productive relationships with other departments and service providers.
- Ensure adherence to all Fund rules, regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with Fund policies and procedures; and
- Ad-hoc projects as determined from time to time.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work on his / her own and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute work efficiently, as well as to simultaneously deal effectively with a number of issues.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of administrative environments.
- Professionalism, personal insight, self-disciplined and integrity.
- Precise with attention to detail, maintaining standards and quality.
- Deadline driven, delivery focussed and stress tolerant.
- Good verbal and written communication, report writing and interpersonal skills; and
- Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with colleagues, service providers and other professionals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent with accounting and/or Mathematics as a subject.
- Must have at least two years’ experience working in an administrative office environment.
- Prior experience in the retirement fund or similar industry, including relevant legislation and regulation will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in MS Office (including MS Word, Access, excel and Outlook); and
- Prior experience of the Com_Pen pension fund administration system will be advantageous.
