Two people were killed and one person critically injured in a horrific accident which happened on the N1 near Sunninghill Johannesburg on Sunday morning. Paramedics say the cause of the accident is still unclear.
“Just after midnight on Sunday morning, Emer-G-med paramedics responded to the scene of the horrific motor vehicle collision on the N1 North after the Rivonia off-ramp,” The Emer-G-med said in a statement on Sunday.

When the paramedics arrived at the scene at midnight, they found remains of what was a light delivery vehicle on the road. The occupants of the vehicle had been ejected during the accident. Two people were declared dead at the scene of the accident. “A third person was found in a critical condition and was treated and stabilised on the scene before being airlifted to a specialist facility for the definitive care that he required,” Emer-G-med added.
The cause of the accident is not clear as there were no witnesses. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
