Edwin Sodi, the owner of Blackhead Consulting, has handed himself to the Sandton police following his assault last week Thursday on his estranged wife, Nthateng Lerata and her friend. Charges of assault and pointing a firearm were opened against Sodi at the Sandton police station.
Sodi is currently behind bars at the Sandton police station facing charges of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm and for pointing a gun at his wife during a dispute with her at his house in Bryanston last week Thursday.
Edwin allegedly got into his home in Bryanston and found his wife with a male friend. He took out his gun and hit the male friend with the pistol, then tried to shoot, but his gun jammed. He then fled the scene and only reported to the Sandton police station on Monday. Lerata’s friend was taken to hospital following the violent confrontation and got stiches.

According to an anonymous source the police arrived at Sodi’s house and tried to make an arrest following the violent incident. The police could not find him in his huge house. As soon as they left two vehicles arrived at the house and asked to see Edwin and the gate opened.
The ANC benefactor is currently out on bail of R500 000 over the charges linked to the R255 million Free State asbestos contracts which was declared irregular by the auditor general. Sodi’s company Blackhead Consulting along with Diamond Hill Trading owned by late Ignatius “Igo” Mpambani received a tender worth R255 million when Ace Magashule was still premier of the Free State. The tender was received, but no work was produced.
