Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced the names of the preliminary squad that will travel to Europe later this month to take on Guinea and France in the friendly encounters.
Broos’s troops will face Guinea in Belgium on 25 March and France in Lille on 29 March.
In his previous squads, Broos was turning a blind eye on so-called “experienced” players who’re over 30 as he says he’s building a young team.

However, this time around he included the in-form 30-year-old Lyle Lakay who plays a left back at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Bafana full squad:
Goalkeepers: Ronwen Williams (SuperSport), Brandon Petersen (Kaizer Chiefs), Bruce Bvuma (Kaizer Chiefs), and Veli Mothwa (AmaZulu).
Defenders: Nyiko Mobbie (Sekhukhune United), Terrence Mashego (Cape Town City), Siyanda Xulu (unattached), Nkosinathi Sibisi (Golden Arrows), Veluyeke Zulu (Chippa), Rushine De Reuck (Mamelodi Sundowns), Lyle Lakay (Mamelodi Sundowns), Khuliso Mudau (Mamelodi Sundowns), Rivaldo Coetzee (Mamelodi Sundowns), Bandile Shandu (Orlando Pirates), and Athenkosi Mcaba (Stellenbosch).

While Bafana is away, 10 other African countries that made it to the final round of World Cup qualifiers will compete to determine the continent’s final five representatives to travel to Qatar in November.
