Civilians have been given the opportunity to leave Ukraine. The Russian forces announced on Sunday that they will allow humanitarian corridors which include Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol and Sumy. Several cities in Ukraine have been reporting deaths and widespread damage since the start of the war in Ukraine 12 days ago.
An attempt by the civilians from Mariupol to move to neighbouring countries failed on Sunday when both the armies of Ukraine and Russia resumed shooting. The war that began on 24 February has now already displaced more than 1.5 million people.
With more people leaving their homes because of the escalating tension, the number of refugees could exceed 4 million. The Ukraine’s deputy prime minister has accused Russia of trying to manipulate Western leaders and the French president when it requested that civilians should leave Ukraine using corridors in Russia and Belarus.

Streaming giant Netflix and social media giant TikTok have decided to suspend operations in Russia as the invasion of Ukraine continues. The escalating sanctions are having an effect on Russia and on Putin. The peace talks between Ukraine and Russia have resumed after two failed attempts from both sides to reach an agreement.
More than 1 million Ukrainians have fled to Poland with anther 142,300 moving to Poland after the intense stand-off began yet again. The negotiations have begun and the ceasefire has not been breached today. The humanitarian crisis might escalate as more people will be making their way out of Ukraine because of the fighting.
