Durban bus collision claims two lives leaving 10 injured

A Durban accident has claimed the lives of two people and injured 10 people. The fatal accident happened on Friday morning at the Durban CBD and involved a cab and an Eldo Coaches bus.  It is believed that the bus and the car collided near pedestrians and that is how the deceased were hit.

The drivers of both the bus and the cab were able to escape the car crash with injuries and were taken to hospital. Garrith Jamieson, ALS paramedic spokesperson, said they arrived at the scene just after 06:30. “The accident involved a bus, a light motor vehicle and multiple pedestrians in the Allice and Russel Street areas. Paramedics arrived on scene to find total carnage after two vehicles collided and pedestrians were involved.”

Jamieson said two women were killed in the fatal accident this morning. One of the women was in her 20’s and the other lady was in her 30’s. Both women were pedestrians who ended up dying in the fatal crash. The paramedics tried their level best to help the two women, but they succumbed to their injuries. The ten injured people were assisted and taken to hospital.

Traffic was a problem on the Durban street due to the accident which had taken place, and the road got back to normal after some time. The deceased have not been identified yet, but they will be identified by their families when the given time arrives.
