Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly lost to Mamelodi Sundowns at home in the CAF Champions League group stage match over the past weekend.
Yesterday Al Ahly whipped Pharco FC 4-1 in a league match and their head coach Pitso Mosimane labelled this victory as an apology to fans after the Sundowns defeat.

“Our last league match against Misr El-Makkasa was similar to today, we also scored four goals,” he told the press after the match.
“Against Mamelodi Sundowns we played differently, but our problem was that we only didn’t score goals against them.
“Today we scored four goals and this is an apology for the Sundowns defeat because the Al Ahly fans always deserve happiness.

“I am delighted with the players, because they have received the fans’ displeasure with the loss of the last game, and today’s match was an apology,” he added.
The Egyptian giants’ next match will see them lock horns with Sudan’s Al-Merreikh as Mosimane seeks his first victory in the group stages.
