The Springbok and World Cup-winning scrumhalf Herschel Jantjies has signed a two-year contract extension with the DHL Stormers which will run until 2024.
Jantjies is a product of the Western Province Rugby Youth system. He first represented DHL Western Province at U16 level while at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch.
Having grown up in Kylemore, Jantjies has supported the DHL Stormers all his life and eventually made his debut for his boyhood team towards the end of the 2018 season.

He made his Springbok debut the following year, and came with a hefty shove in the national set-up as his team ended up winning the World Cup in the same year.
Jantjies is happy for his run so far with the Stormers and is pleased with the direction the team is taking.
“I am very excited about the direction that this team is going, and can see us building something special together here,” Jantjies told Club’s website.

“This is my home and this has always been my team, so I am looking forward to contributing in any way I can, going forward.”
DHL Stormers head coach John Dobson says Jantjies’s story is an inspirational one and shows the character of the man.
“Herschel has had to work very hard to get where he is today. I have seen him evolve into a world-class player through incredible commitment and passion for this union,” Dobson said.
“He is exactly the type of player that we want in our team, and we are very excited to see what he can achieve in a Stormer’s jersey in the years to come.”
