TS Galaxy goalkeeper stabbed in car hijacking

The TS Galaxy flying high goalkeeper, Melusi Buthelezi, became a victim of a car hijacking in Soweto on 26 February.


As per TS Galaxy’s statement, Buthelezi and his brother were returning from visiting their mother who’s in poor health when they were cornered by car hijackers at a petrol filling station in Soweto.

Both of them suffered stab wounds and were admitted to hospital. Buthelezi (goalkeeper) who’s 23 years old, is stable. His brother however is said to be in a critical condition.


His family has asked for privacy while they’re trying to deal with the situation.

Buthelezi is yet to concede a goal at the highest level. He rose to prominence when he made his debut in the Nedbank Cup match when TS Galaxy beat the mighty Kaizer Chiefs who they beat 1-0.


He went on to play AmaZulu and Swallows where he kept clean sheets in both of those games.
