At the beginning of the week, Premier Soccer League found Lamontville Golden Arrows guilty after fielding ineligible player Simo Mbhele.
The PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu revealed that attacking midfielder and Arrows were guilty of improper registration of the player.
“With regard to allegations of dishonesty and in proprietary pertaining to how registration of Mr Bhele was procured, the DC found both Mr Mbhele and Golden Arrows Football Club not guilty,” Majavu told PSL media department.
“However, the DC found both Mr Mbhele and Golden Arrows guilty on the basis of that the registration of the player was itself improper.
Now PSL are said to have decided to take away six points from the Durban-based team for the club’s misconduct.
Mbhele joined Abafana Bes’thende at the start of the season from Sociedade Uniao Dezembr who did not grant him an international clearance.
The 23-year-old has now played eight matches across all competitions including six league games and two MTN 8 clashes.
