A nine-year-old boy died after he was allegedly poisoned by his mother’s boyfriend.
The boy, from Bloemfontein, was rushed to hospital at the weekend after he started sweating and vomiting. The vomiting got worse and he died.
Sers. Mahlomola Kareli, police spokesperson, says the boy was at home with his family in Phase 3 in Mangaung when he started sweating and vomiting. An autopsy showed he was poisoned.
“It was Saturday, 5 February 2022 around 20:00 when the victim was taken to hospital after excessive vomiting,” says Kareli.
A man (32), the boyfriend of the boy’s mother, has been arrested and will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on a charge of murder.
