JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT: BEEFMASTER RETAIL
Main Responsibilities:
- Basic review and analysis of monthly trial balance;
- Assist with annual audit and queries during the year-end audit process;
- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations to be presented to the team leader (Includes balance sheet substantiation);
- Assist with month end closure and other reporting requirements;
- Prepare and distribute daily reports to the team leader;
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT 201 reconciliation;
- Ensure complete data capturing;
- Ensure documentation is appropriately captured and stored;
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of documents received / processed;
- Ensure accurate and timeous capturing and reconciliation of customer and supplier invoices;
- Prepare regular supplier reconciliations and payments;
- Obtaining payment remittances from clients and reconciling accounts accordingly;
- Liaise with sales teams regarding account statuses/claims/overdue accounts;
- Monitor and distribute customer balances and statements;
- Manage customers payments / collections and manage supplier payments to optimise and contribute towards the company’s cashflow management;
- Handling of accounts receivable queries;
- Update and capture, on a daily basis, cashbook records and prepare relevant reconciliations;
- Prepare and update daily and weekly balancing of cash control accounts and relevant transfers control accounts;
- Posting of general journals when required;
- Resolve outstanding queries before the end of each month;
- Track and report on all set objectives and respective deadlines are achieved (both individual and team) or appropriately scheduled; and
- Assist with various other administration tasks as and when required.

Qualifications and skills:
• Completed SAIPA articles
• Degree in financial accounting
• Relevant experience in the required responsibilities
• Sage Evolution skills will be beneficial
• Exceptional Excel skills are a must
