The then 25-year-old Keegan du Plooy went missing two years ago after he appeared in court in Pretoria North.
The mystery behind Keegan’s (now 27) disappearance is still unsolved after two years.
Lynda du Plooy, Keegan’s mother, says Keegan was last seen by family on February 29, 2020. “He was detained for five months until he appeared in court on July 23. That was the last time anyone heard of him.”
Although the court documents show that Keegan appeared in court, there is no footage or evidence that the court can provide that shows that he was indeed there.
Keegan’s cellphone and wallet were also handed in at the police station as evidence and after appearing in court, he never went to pick it up.
Lynda says Keegan was reported missing and that no one has heard a word from him since his disappearance. “It was Covid-19 and lockdown and therefore I only called six weeks after his court appearance to find out what had happened to his court case. That’s when they told me he had already appeared in court. “
Lynda says Keegan was very close to his family and that it is therefore strange that he has not made contact at all yet.
“Keegan never missed a birthday. He always came here to eat cake on his birthday. It was also meanwhile his sisters’ 16th and 21st and he also missed the birth of his sister’s child. And he knew she was pregnant” says Lynda.
Lynda says Keegan did not know her cellphone number by heart.
Keegan had problems with his leg after he was in a car accident and he is limping. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black Puma tracksuit, a black shirt and blue Tommy sneakers.
