Pierré Bellingan (42), the owner of a bar in Bloemfontein, appeared in court for the first time on Friday after he allegedly injected a 17-year-old boy with tik and aimed a firearm at him.
Bellingan appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted murder and handling a firearm under the influence.
Bellingan was arrested on Wednesday after the father of the 17-year-old victim opened a case at the Bainsvlei police station, says lt-col Thabo Covane.
According to the statement made by the father, his 17-year-old son was at Gregory’s Pub with some of his friends. “It is alleged that Bellingan was under the influence at closing time, and that he asked the victim to take him home, as they both live in Woodland Hills.”
*Bellingan is not the owner of Gregory’s Pub.
Bellingan allegedly invited the victim into his home. “Bellingan apparently stood behind the bar counter, took out a firearm and aimed it at the boy.”
According to Covane, the victim then went to the bathroom to send his live location to his friends and tell them he was in danger.
“When he came out of the bathroom, Bellingan was apparently still holding the firearm. He told the 17-year-old victim: “We are going to try something new”, after which he apparently injected him with tik in both arms.”
According to Covane, the victim could not remember at all what happened next. He was later found in the suspect’s driveway, after which he was rushed to the hospital.
The case was adjourned until December 23. Bellingan is still in custody.
