Jannie du Plessis received a touching reception on his return to the field of play.
Du Plessis, made his return at the Cape Town stadium on Saturday as a replacement for the Lions against the Stormers game in the United Rugby Championship – Du Plessis’s return comes after he tragically losing his son in a drowning accident last month.
Having been afforded the opportunity to take a compassionate leave after the tragic loss of his son; Jannie du Plessis braved his return to the rugby field of play this past weekend.
Being dubbed as one South Africa’s best rugby players, he holds unquestionable, unparalleled to none sport accolades for rugby, which includes being one of the three members of the 1995 Rugby World Cup winners, and is one of the few players to earn the World Cup and Currie Cup winners medals in the same year.
