Gift of the Givers helps out the Eastern Cape netball team in time of need, after three netball players, including one official died the horror bus crash accident.
The Disaster relief organization, Gift of the Givers, brought much needed relief to assist the Eastern Cape netball team with trauma counselling, food, including transport to reunite with their families, after three team members and coach died when the bus they were travelling in crashed in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The bus was carrying two teams from the OR Tambo District when it got involved in the accident in Aberdeen, Eastern Cape around 4 am on Sunday.
Director Imtiaz Sooliman, said that the Eastern Cape MEC of Sport, Arts and Culture, Fezeka Nkomonye, requested assistance from the charitable organisation.
The accident took place in Aberdeen, a small town in the Sarah Baartman District Municipality of the Eastern Cape.
The team was on their way to participate in the SA National Netball tournament in Cape Town when the fatal horror bus accident happened – the SA National Netball tournament will still go ahead with proceedings of the tournament, despite the traumatic accident, the tournament is set to kick off this Monday.
