Five gunmen attacked and robbed the Tshwane District vaccination team at gun point in Soshanguve, and held them up at wonder City Taxi Rank.
The five gun-toting assailants robbed the vaccination team of their vaccination programme gadgets, including three tablets and a smartphone belonging to government, plus six cellphones belonging to the team of health-care workers who were in Soshanguve, in northern Tshwane.
The Gauteng health department said, the men emerged from a white Toyota Quantum and robbed the vaccination team at gunpoint while busy inoculating people at the Wonder City taxi rank’s vaccination pop-up site at 09:00.
“The Gauteng department of health condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack on a Tshwane District vaccination team yesterday (Saturday) in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria, at around 9am. Five armed men who were in a white Toyota Quantum at Wonder City taxi rank in Soshanguve, robbed the vaccination team at gunpoint,” said Gauteng health spokesperson Kwara Kekana.
The perpetrators fled the scene with vaccination programme gadgets which consist of three tablets, one smartphone and six cellphones belonging to the department,” The Gauteng health department it said in a statement.
