The original announcement , concerning the petrol price hike, made by the Energy Department was a miscalculation. Originally they had said that petrol has increased by 81 cents but it had increased by 75 cents.
The department said it had made a miscalculation of 6 cents.
Stakeholders have been instructed to effect the changes with immediate effect.
The new price kicked in on Wednesday morning.
