Eskom has issued a statement that in order to continue replenishing the emergency generation reserves, load shedding will continue until 5:00 am on Thursday.
Eskom also said that it would continue with load shedding to address additional risks to its generation fleet, which includes three broken down generators, a lack of diesel, conveyor belt failures and boiler tube leaks.
Eskom has promised to communicate any major changes to the power system as soon as possible.
