While having a celebrity show up at your wedding would thrill most people and definitely be a story to tell your grandchildren, one couple was none too happy when British chef, Gordon Ramsey, reportedly “gate crashed” their wedding.
Charlie Willis and his wife Laura were getting married on a Cornwall beach last month, when Gordon Ramsey and his crew showed up to film the chef’s new BBC TV series, Future Food Stars.
The bride and groom had not paid for “exclusive” use of the beach, however they were unhappy about feeling like “extras” on their own special day.
During an interview, the groom had said that, “The whole thing was a complete kitchen nightmare. We had both worked so hard to save for that day and we felt like extras on a game show.”
According to a spokesperson for Lusty Gaze, where this took place, the couple hadn’t paid for the exclusive use of their premises and therefore chef Gordon Ramsay and his team were able to film there, despite the unusual circumstances.
When the famous chef heard that the bride and groom were upset, he offered to pay for their wedding as a kind gesture. His producer also sent the couple a letter apologizing for “unintentionally” impacting their wedding day.
