Over the weekend, the remaining portion of the Miami building block that collapsed on 24 June was demolished due to safety concerns over the tropical storm approaching Florida.
Rescuers are to continue their search for the 121 missing residents in the rubble of the demolished building.
According to reports, no survivors have been found after the first few hours following the collapse of the building. As of now, rescuers have recovered the remains of 24 people.
The families of the missing residents were apparently warned in advance that the building would be demolished. It is not clear if compensation will be offered to owners of the affected apartments.
As of yet, there has not yet been a report revealing the cause of the collapse however other tower blocks in the area are being investigated for any structural problems.
