These concrete diamonds are great to use as paperweights, jewellery holders, book ends.
BEGIN WITH:
A3 CARDBOARD WITH DIAMOND TEMPLATE;
CLEAR CONTACT PAPER;
RULER;
SCISSORS;
STICKY TAPE;
3KG CEMENT MIX;
BUCKET;
WATER;
SPATULA;
SMALL PAINT TINS
Instructions:
STEP ONE Download the diamond template at Homesplusmag.com.au and print or trace onto a cardboard sheet. Cover the diamond printed side of the cardboard with clear contact paper, using a ruler to press down for a smooth finish.
STEP TWO Use scissors to cut out along the solid lines of the diamond template, and fold along the dotted lines with the contact side of the cardboard folding down.
STEP THREE Sticky tape the edges to create a little diamond. Make sure to use plenty of sticky tape to ensure there are no holes for the concrete to run through.
STEP FOUR Place your concrete into a bucket and add some water. Mix together using a spatula. You want the concrete to be thick enough to be able to spoon into the diamond.
STEP FIVE Spoon the concrete mixture into the diamond. Make sure the diamond is sitting upright – we used small paint tins to help hold the diamond in place. Leave to dry overnight.
STEP SIX Peel off the cardboard and place diamond in a sunny area to continue drying.)
