Die polisie op Upington het gister twee verdagtes in verband met ’n rooftog in hegtenis geneem.
Kol. Mashay Gamieldien, polisiewoordvoerder, sê die verdagtes het die slagoffer na Upington gelok om skape te koop, waar hulle hom aangeval het. Volgens die slagoffer het hulle hulself as polisiebeamptes voorgedoen. Gamieldien sê die verdagtes het toe met R200 000 kontant gevlug.

TWO MALE SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY IN UPINGTON
The police in Upington arrested two male suspects on Tuesday, 01 September 2020 for robbery. The complainant was allegedly robbed of cash by the suspects who lured him to Upington for a purchase of sheep. The suspects later attacked him, claiming to be police officials and threatened to arrest him. They then got away with R200 000 cash in a silver BMW and white Polo.
The police were on the lookout for the suspects, when they spotted a vehicle fitting the description in Paballelo and the two suspects were apprehended. Three cellphones and undisclosed amount of money were confiscated for further investigation and the two suspects aged 35 and 36 will appear in court soon.
The members were commended for their vigilance and swift response by the management of Upington SAPS.
