KATHU – Nog ’n verdagte (31) is gister op Kathu vir die beweerde verkoop van onwettige sigarette in hegtenis geneem. Sigarette tot die waarde van R40 935.00 is gekonfiskeer.

NC: SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ILLEGALLY SELLING CIGARETTES *
A 31 year old man was arrested for selling cigarettes illegally during the lockdown transgressing the Regulations of the Disaster Management Act Regulations, 2020 in Kathu on 04 May 2020 at approximately 09:30 by members of the Kuruman Highway patrol and Siyathemba SAPS Visible policing members.
Cigarettes to the value of R40 935-00 were confiscated after a tip off from the community was received that someone was selling cigarettes illegally in the area.
The suspect will appear before the Kathu Magistrates court soon on charge of selling non essential goods during the lockdown. Major General Johan Bean commended the members of Kuruman highway patrol and Siyathemba SAPS for enforcing the law.
