POTCHEFSTROOM – Twee verkeersbeamptes van J.B. Marks-munisipaliteit en die eienaar van Overland Liquor in Potchefstroom het hulself aan die polisie oorgegee ná die polisie inligting ontvang het dat dié partye op 9 April by die onwettige handel van alkohol betrokke was.
Die verkeersbeamptes en die besigheidseienaar, wat vermoedelik alkohol aan ander persone ook verkoop het, het op 16 April in die landdroshof in Potchefstroom verskyn op aanklag van korrupsie en regulasies ingevolge die Wet op Rampbestuur, sê polisiewoordvoerder brig. Vish Naidoo. Rullaine Williams (48), Moses Nche (50) en Nelson Duarte (45) is op borgtog van R1 000 elk vrygelaat en sal weer in die hof verskyn.

The SAPS in Potchefstroom acted on information about two traffic officials of JB Marks Local Municipality that were allegedly seen receiving liquor from the owner of Overland Bottle Store. The owner was also allegedly selling liquor to other customers.
The incident happened on Thursday, 09 April 2020 between 15:57 and 17:22. The two traffic officials, Rullaine Jacob Williams (48) and Moses Kenosi Nche (50) and a bottle store owner Nelson Florentino Duarte (45) handed themselves over to police on Thurday, 16 April 2020 and they were subsequently charged. They appeared before the Potchefstroom Magistrate’s Court on the same day and were released on a R1000.00 bail each. Their next court date is not known as yet as the docket is still at the court.
The suspects were facing charges of:
1. Corruption
2. Regulation 11B(1)(i);
3. Regulation 11B(1)(b);
4. Regulation 11B(1)(e)4.
