KIMBERLEY – Brig. Mohale Ramatseba, polisiewoordvoerder, sê die Frances Baard-polisie het op 19 Maart ’n man en vrou in hegtenis geneem vir die besit van dagga ter waarde van R60 000. Die polisie het volgens brig. Ramatseba inligting ontvang oor ’n taxi wat van KwaZulu-Natal na die Kimberley-omgewing gereis het.

POLICE APPREHENDED TWO COMMUTERS WITH DAGGA WORTH R60 000 ON N8 NEAR KIMBERLEY
The Frances Baard Police bust a female and male commuters with dagga worth more than R50 000 on N8 near Kimberley. The two aged 40 and 48 were apprehended in the early hours of Thursday, 19 March 2020.
Their arrest came after the police acted on a tip-off, regarding a taxi / combi which was travelling from Kwa Zulu Natal(KZN) in the direction of Kimberley, possibly with dagga consignment. A taxi/ combi which was identical to the one the police were expecting was pulled off on N8, and the commuters were searched.
During the search and investigation, both male and female suspects were found in possession of dagga consignment, which they loaded in a taxi they boarded to Kimberley.
The Frances Baard Cluster Commander, Brigadier Gabathata Makgari applauded community members for taking a firm stand by reporting criminal activities to the police.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court tomorrow(Friday,20 March 2020), on counts of dealing in dagga.
