MEDIA RELEASE : TEN YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR MURDER OF GRANNY IN BARKLY WEST
Tobia Toffa(61) was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for murder in the Barkly West Magistrates Court, on 10 March 2020.
On 15 December 2018 at about 23:00 the accused and his girlfriend got involved in an argument at a house in Barkly West. The mother of the girlfriend tried to intervene and was cut in stomach area by the Toffa. Kadimo Miriam Soetwater(72) died on the scene and the accused was arrested the following day by the Police. The accused later on received bail and was sentenced today(10/03) for this serious and violent crime.
The SAPS Management lauds D/Const Kgotsitsile Taolo of the Barkly West Detectives unit for a job well. All perpetrators of crime should be brought to justice. END
