DA Federal Leader, John Steenhuisen visited the Northern Cape on Monday as part of his nationwide voter registration tour to engage with citizens, and bring on board civil society bodies and organised communities who will play a vital role in rebuilding South Africa as part of a new majority in 2024.
Steenhuisen will also be announcing the DA’s Northern Cape Premier Candidate as a strategic province for the 2024 General Election.
Steenhuisen conducted a particular oversight visit to the Water Treatment Plant in Warrenton in the Magareng Municipality, where he addressed a water provision project by the National Department of Water and Sanitation, now three years overdue and exacerbated by infrastructural decay, that has left the entire town of Warrenton without water for seven months.
Steenhuisen was joined by DA Federal Chairperson Dr Ivan Meyer, DA Northern Cape Provincial Leader Harold McGluwa, DA Northern Cape Provincial Chairperson Dr Isak Fritz, DA Shadow Minister of Water and Sanitation Leon Basson, Constituency Leaders, Councillors and Activists at the various stops.
The delegation will be travelling to Kakamas, Upington, Kathu, Olifantshoek, Deben, Kimberley, Warrenton and Jan Kempdorp.
