Wildeklawer Farm has a vacancy for a packhouse manager for a new generation carrot-and-beet packhouse, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) as technology. The packhouse is being equipped with some of the most sophisticated packhouse equipment.
The position involves:
- Packing carrots and beets to key customers and all markets
- The commissioning of the new packhouse with the AI equipment, which forms the core of the packhouse
- Develop operating methodology to maximize the new AI equipment.
- Use new generation technology to optimise the available crop’s shipment, in collaboration with the sales team.
- Optimize the mass data system for the benefit of production.
- A well-trained team will support the suitable candidate to ensure the ongoing supply of retail and markets.
- Optimal management of personnel, equipment, processes, and finance for maximum profitability in product packaging and processing.
- Managing staff in order to establish a well-motivated team.
- Quality management of incoming and outgoing products.
- Managing the health and safety program of the packhouse.
Requirements:
- Preferably 5-8 years of relevant experience in a similar position
- A relevant degree
- An Industrial Engineering degree will be an advantage
- Possesses a general business sense, which is profit-oriented.
- Good interpersonal relationships and personnel management skills.
