The Manchester City deep-lying playmaker Fernandinho shocked his coach Pep Guardiola yesterday when he revealed that he wanted to leave the club at the end of the season.
Fernandinho hasn’t been a regular tool for the Spanish manager in this campaign and says he wants to play regularly.

The 36-year-old’s contract with the Citizens will expire at the end of the season.
When asked if he would consider leaving Etihad to get more game time, he said, “Yes, I want to play. I want to play regularly. I will go back to Brazil. I decided with my family which is the most important for me.”
Later, he posted on Twitter, saying he gave an honest answer at the press conference.
“I was 100% honest and spontaneous in answering that question at today’s press conference.
“But anyone who knows me also knows that my greatest honesty is with Man City and my duties as team captain.
“My focus is 100% on winning all the titles we are playing for and I will only talk about my future at the end of the season. Let’s keep pushing!”

However, Guardiola looked surprised when he was told by the reporters that Fernandinho had revealed a desire to leave.
“Oh! I didn’t know,” said Guardiola.
“You give me the news. I didn’t hear it.
“We will see what happens. I don’t know what will happen. He is so important. I’ll ask him.”
