Ntuthuko Shoba, the man who is alleged to have ordered the murder of his girlfriend Tshegofatso Pule will learn his fate when the Johannesburg High Court hands down judgement on Friday. Shoba and other witnesses faced cross examination on the details which led to the death of Tshegofatso Pule.
Pule, a 28-year-old beautician, was brutally killed on 4 June 2020. Her murder sent shockwaves and came at a time when attention was on gender-based violence and particularly on women and children. Tshegofatso was found hanging from a free in Durban Deep.

Muzikayise Malephane, the man who killed Tshegofatso, was arrested on his way back from Mpumalanga and entered into a plea with the state. He pleaded guilty and confessed to have shot the victim in Noordgesig. He confessed that he did not have the guts to hang Tshegofatso while she was still alive.
He also confessed to the murder as a request from Shoba. Shoba is alleged to have ordered the hit on his pregnant girlfriend, because he did not want his wife to find out about the pregnancy. Ntuthuko Shoba pleaded not guilty to the murder and the trial began. The state cross-examined Shoba and believed that he was not truthful. In a footage where they were last seen together, it was found that Shoba usually arranged her transport, but that night when she was killed, he did not. He did not even check the following day if she got home safely.
