Kyiv Reds Supporters’ Club which is the Man United supporters branch based in Kyiv, Ukraine confirmed the passing of one of their founding members Aleksander Kukin who was shot by Russian invaders.
A statement by the Kyiv Reds confirmed the news of the much-admired Man United fan on Monday 21 March.
His wife and daughter survived the tragedy, and have since undergone operations in hospital.

Manchester United sent their condolences to the family for their loss and wished his wife and daughter a speedy recovery.
“The club is exploring a number of ways in which it can offer its support to both Aleksander’s family and the Kyiv Reds in due course,” Man United said in the statement.
“The Kyiv Reds began in 2002, and Aleksander was instrumental in its creation. In recent years, family commitments meant he could not commit as much of his time to the supporters’ club, but his enthusiasm remained.

“Our thoughts continue to rest with everyone affected and displaced by the war in Ukraine,” added the United statement.
